Guided Tours Of Historic Bedford
Tours are offered on Friday Afternoons at 3:30
Tours will start again in June 2001

Free Guided Tours of Historic Bedford
The Bedford County Visitors Bureau will conduct tours of Historic Bedford on Friday afternoons, throughout the summer and early fall of 2000. The tours will begin at the visitors bureau office at 3:30 and last for a little over an hour. We go to several sites, including the oldest active courthouse in Pennsylvania, the site of Fort Bedford and the Espy House (a National Historic Landmark, where President Washington made his headquarters during the Whiskey Rebellion). The Guided Tours are Free!

The tour is heavy on human interest. For example, the only civilian ever executed in Bedford County was a minister. We tell you how and why it happened. We'll also tell you how Fort Bedford was captured ... and why the captors gave it back to the British!

What the Papers had to say about these reeeeeeeeealy cool tours. The best part about the tours, (except for the excellent information and charming tour guide) is that it is free! If you'd like to take the guided tour, call Dennis or Stacy at the Visitors Bureau. (800)765-3331 Or, click on the "Contact Us" button for more info ... or to let us know that you plan to attend.
