At the end of the road, nestled between Will’s Mountain and the Juniata River, you’ll find peace and privacy at Bedford’s Riverhouse. Enjoy cool mountain breezes from your rocking chair on the waterfront screened porch. Hike along the river past the ice caves or up the mountain to the top of the ridge if you’d like. Fish from your own private dock, or just enjoy watching the wildlife.

Located halfway between Pittsburgh and the Baltimore Washington, D.C. area, the rolling hills, beautiful vistas, and mountain streams provide a fresh get away for families, couples, or individuals. Painters and writers will find a motivating atmosphere to create that masterpiece. Perhaps Thoreau’s “singular luxury” is awaiting you here, just as his “fresh woods and pastures new” provided the inspiration for Walden Pond in 1854.
