Many roadside remnants remain, such as the old "Coffee Pot" or Dunkle's Gulf.
Most gas stations don't rate a mention when you're talking history, but this classic
Art Deco design is as it was in the 1930's. This structure is along route 30 in Downtown Bedford.
The Coffee Pot is on the west side of town, just outside of the County Fairgrounds.
We once again have copies of the Lincoln Highway Driving Guide. Call us if you're interested.

We're fairly easy to find. As you can see, the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) comes through our county. I-99 / Route 220 provides good north/south access. Also, route 30, aka The Lincoln Highway passes through the center of Bedford County. Route 30 was an early trans-continental road in the United States, that flourished during the early days of the automobile.

An excellent example of the wild roadside architecture of the 1930's, the Coffee Pot still stands.
The building acted as its own sign ... no doubt for most consumers what they could expect to find inside. The Coffee Pot was
recently refurbished. It now features a silver paint job.
The Ship Hotel stood for decades along the Lincoln Highway. This iconic landmark along the Lincoln Highway was lost in October of 2001 to fire. The Ship had been in rapid decline, but still surprised travellers with its unusual appearance and breathtaking view.
