The Covered Bridge Cottage is an ideal get-a-way for couples or small families. We're located next to Shawnee Park and Colvin Covered Bridge, near the town of Schellsburg, Pennsylvania. Schellsburg is about ten miles west of Bedford. The first floor of the cottage includes a front porch with a swing and table and chairs for 4. It also features a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a living room with a TV and VCR. The second level includes a large bedroom with a king bed, a medium bedroom with two twin beds and a bath with a shower/tub combination. There are also two twin beds in the living room.

Here's a picture of the Colvin Covered Bridge, which is next to the cottage. The setting is beautiful. The cottage is also within walking distance of Shawnee State Park. Just outside your door you'll find a lot of outdoor activities to enjoy like hiking, biking, fishing and cross country skiing. There's also swimming and canoeing nearby and you'll find great antiquing, downhill skiing, historic sites like Old Bedford Village and a beautiful historic town of Bedford within a short drive. HOW TO GET HERE - From Points East - Take I-76 (PA Turnpike) to the Bedford exit 146 (also marked as the Johnstown / Altoona exit). Turn right at the light after exiting the toll booth and go approximately 2 miles to Pitt Street (3rd light after the toll booth). Turn right onto Route 30 West (Pitt St). Drive approximately 10 miles to Schellsburg. In Schellsburg, drive 1 block past the stop light. Turn left onto Mill Road and drive one mile thru the Colvin Covered Bridge to the first house on the right (The Covered Bridge Cottage). - From Points West - Take I-76 (PA Turnpike) to the Somerset exit 110. Follow signs to Route 31 East. Follow route 31 East for about 1/2 hour. Turn left onto Route 96 North (the road to Shawnee Park). Drive 2 1/2 miles to Schellsburg. Turn left at the stop light and drive one long block to Mill Road. Turn left onto Mill Road and drive one mile thru the Colvin Covered Bridge to the first house on the right (The Covered Bridge Cottage).
